Luna Quartet is a talented Bay Area group of musicians that play a variety of jazz and swing original and well known music.  They  have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting jazz ensembles in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. M.R.L.S. is a quartet of fine musicians who play a combination of instrumental soul and jazz.  They are four longtime friends who have backed countless major artists in a wide variety of styles and settings.

The brainchild of Tony Saunders, the group got together for the sole purpose of playing for fun!  This feeling is truly contagious as audiences from all musical backgrounds have consistently been knocked out by the infectious grooves of  M.R.L.S.

Tony, who has led many bands and has been a sideman for many great artists, wanted everyone in the band to have equal billing - hence the name M.R.L.S.  The band also thought it serendipitous that when the initials were arranged in this manner it could be seen as a loving tribute Tony's father, legendary San Francisco keyboardist and international jam band master Merl Saunders.  It all just felt right.

Yugoslavian born Larry Vuckovich, a highly versatile jazz pianist, has performed with top musicians from various jazz influences, including Anita O'Day, Joe Williams, Helen Humes, Cab Calloway, Red Norvo, Don Byas, Charlie Haden, Bobby Hutcherson, Larry Grenadier, Tom Harrell, and Charles McPherson. Accompanist for vocalist/lyricist Jon Hendricks for many years, Larry has appeared at major festivals and clubs in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Larry now lives in Calistoga, in the wine country north of San Francisco with his wife and co-producer, singer-percussionist Sanna Craig. He performs and records on their label Tetrachord Music with a variety of combos, including Young at Heart Ensemble and Blue Balkan Band (whose CD was selected among the top jazz CDs for 2002 by Gary Giddins in the Village Voice.)

  In great demand as a jazz saxophone soloist, Steve Feierabend has performed internationally at festivals, clubs and concerts with such artists as Mel Torme, Steve Allen, Charles McPherson, Pete Christlieb, Kei Akagi, Hal Crook, Joe Diorio, Brian Lynch, Bill Cunliff, Holly Hoffman, Mike Wofford, Ron Eschete, Rob Schneiderman, Jack Costanzo, The Temptations and The Four Tops, to name just a few.

As a recording artist, Steve is a featured soloist, composer and arranger on new CD releases by latin jazz legend Jack Costanzo, David Hoffman (of the Ray Charles band), Glen Fisher's Con Alma, Brazilian singer Josias De Santos, as well as many commercial projects and jingles.

Josh Workman began playing guitar at age 10 and by the tender age of 13 was already out performing in the smoke-filled bars of San Francisco's infamous North Beach.  Some of his earliest guitar teachers included Ray Scott, Tuck Andress (Tuck & Patti), Dave Creamer and Bruce Foreman. After a year at Berklee School of Music in Boston, at age 19 Josh left to finish his studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Josh has recorded and performed with artists such as world music ensemble D'Vash, The Jazz Passengers (featuring Deborah Harry of Blondie) and Groove Collective.

The Cottontails are one of San Francisco's most exciting musical groups. Well-versed in American musical styles from the 1920s to the 1980s, they will belt out some old gin-house blues, riff on a Charilie Parker tune, and rock out on Black Sabbath, all in a single set. The Cottontails feature the bluesy Emily Hayes on vocals and the legendary Ralph Carney on horns and lap steel, backed up by the hardest-working rhythm section in show business — Michael IcIntosh on piano, Daniel Fabricant on bass, and the irrepressible Randy Odell on percussion. The group was born and baptized at the Riptide, a friendly tavern near the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco. The Riptide is still one of the best places to see the band let loose.

The Dalt Williams Quintet featuring vocalist Tranishia Gholston, is a "swinging" group of musicians committed to performing America's #1 art form.....JAZZ. These talented musicians are particularly skilled in performing the great American popular music written in the period of 1920 to 1960 (which lends itself well to the jazz genre). Be it Dixieland, Swing, BeBop, Latin, or just plain Blues; the Dalt Williams group with Tranishia Gholston are versatile in performing the many styles of jazz. Davis Ramey has been a leading guitarist in San Francisco and Northern California for over 20 years. He is equally accomplished in the jazz and classical fields. Davis' jazz and pop credits include performances with Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Gregory Hines, Mark Isham, Debbie Allen and Michael Feinstein. Davis was professor of guitar at San Francisco State University for six years, and a member of the teaching staff of the American Conservatory Theatre(ACT).

Among his credits as a composer and arranger are the score for an Elliot Fisk/Turtle Island String Quartet collaboration, and incidental music for ACT's production of Tennessee Williams "The Rose Tattoo".

Jazz Mine is an outstanding jazz ensemble that plays a variety of styles including traditional, swing, hot jazz, ragtime, modern jazz, standards, French, and Latin. Some of the songs will be familiar to listeners while others are quite obscure, but in ether case, hearing them performed by this talented group of musicians is an experience that should not be missed.

Alan Spector plays acoustic guitar and is the primary vocalist for the group. Joe Yamamoto is a phenomenal musician who displays his virtuosity in violin and mandolin. Dave Bell is a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he studied with many jazz greats including Gary Burton. Ran Bush has been playing acoustic and electric bass for over thirty years. There is a certain chemistry that happens on stage whenever Jazz Mine performs. It is obvious that Alan, Joe, Ran and Dave have a deep love and respect for the music they play. They are able to reproduce the appropriate stylistic musical nuance for many genres of jazz while at the same time giving their own particular interpretation to each song.

Dan Goldfus has been playing guitar for over thirty years and performing in the wine country for almost twenty. His repetoire includes a wide variety of music; jazz standards and ltin, classical, folk, contemporary and blues. He has opened shows for such artists as Jose Feliciano, David Grisman, and Ricky Scaggs. Dan has played at hundreds of weddings, private functions, restarurants, and wineries including Robert Mondavi, Domaine Chandon, Buena Vista, and Niebaum-Coppola. He performs solo, duos with sax & flute, bass, or 2nd guitarist, trios with an upright bass, and can add drums and a vocalist. Dan is also a member of the group Jazz on the Vine, who have released 3 CD's; they have sold over 17, 000 copies in wineries alone.

Guitarist J. Thompson brings his deep background in jazz, rock, and R&B to his music. Stompy Jones was formed in 1998, its members are all veteran musicians, well steeped in the traditions of Swing, Boogie Woogie, early Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz. "Little David" Rose's thumpin' stand-up bass, Leor Beary's swinging double-shuffle drumming and the rolling boogie-woogie piano of Scott Lawrence provide the foundation. Riffing on top is Rob Dehlinger on trumpet and Jeff "Erv" Ervin on tenor and alto saxophone...together these two highly respected "take-off men" create the fireworks of vintage jazz. Schuster, Draper & Bay are three talented musicians playing four instruments: sax, piano, bass & drums--classic jazz quartet instrumentation. Steve Schuster switches off between sax and bass, usually in the middle of each song. Dick Bay plays piano, his left-hand handling the bass duties while Steve is playing sax. And Duncan Draper provides the rhythmic backbone on the drums.

And while a 3-man jazz quartet is a rarity, this is no novelty act. These veterans of the Bay Area music scene know how to make a whole room swing, as well as how to make a ballad weep. They can find magic in popular 60s/70s rock tunes, in the supple rhythms of Brazil, and in their own exceptionally engaging compositions. The band was founded after playing in a jam session setting at the Silverado Bar and Restaurant in Calistoga over eight years ago. Swing 7 has played for private parties and wedding receptions in the Napa Valley, Santa Rosa area, Sacramento area, Napa Valley Wine Auction parties, and Piedmont in the East Bay Hills. The band has also played at jazz festivals in and around the North Bay area. Swing 7 recently played at a major fund raising private party for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
